Meet the
Woodward Family
While Louisville is most widely known as the home of the Kentucky Derby, for Andy Woodward and his family, Kentucky’s largest city is simply known as “home.” The Woodward family has lived and worked in Louisville for the past 30 years, during which time Andy built a thriving business in flooring installation (formerly known as Clean Cut Carpet). In 2017, Andy purchased his carpet cleaning business and turned it into the rapidly growing business that it is today.
Certainly, Andy was no stranger to the industry before purchasing the carpet cleaning business. His professional journey into the flooring and carpet industry began 30 years ago. Andy was newly married and studying mechanical engineering at the time, making $7 an hour as an intern and minimal supplemental income as a weekend warrior in the Army National Guard.
Looking to find a career to support his young family, Andy took to the Yellow Pages and began job hunting at local companies. He left his name and contact information with several companies, hoping one of them was hiring. A couple of weeks went by, and finally, one of them returned his call. It was McSwain Carpets, a carpet store whose installer just so happened to be in the market for a helping hand.
Andy remembers the day he received the phone call and got the job. It was a morning in June – Father’s Day, to be exact. It just so happened that on the very day Andy received that call, he and his wife found out they were expecting their first child. He went to work that day for his first day on the job, thus beginning his career in the industry.
Fast-forward 30 years, and today, Andy works alongside his two sons, Josh and Michael, in their family-owned business. Another integral part of the business is Dave Rogers, who Andy has worked with for 16 years.
As a man of faith, Andy instilled Christian values in his family and strives to operate his business the same way, with the utmost integrity. “We are a family-owned business that cares about what we do,” Andy said. “It’s connected to who we are, and we are grateful for each and every one of our customers.”
